Megadeth Nominated for Grammy, Body Count Surprise with Guest Appearances for New Album, Zakk Sabbath to Tour and Track Listing for New Deep Purple Album

Megadeth have been nominated for a Grammy Award for “Best Metal Performance” for the title track from their latest album ‘Dystopia’. Megadeth have been previously nominated twelve times, but have yet to win an award. The thrash pioneers are hoping to win their first Grammy Award at the 59th annual event to be held on February 12th at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Here’s what bassist David Ellefson had to say to The Age Of Metal in regard to Megadeth having yet to win a Grammy.

“Listen, obviously, it would be great to win one. But just to even be nominated and recognized by our peers in the business and by the Grammy committee is huge. Because there’s a lot of groups out there, and to be also be recognized and to be invited in, that’s amazing. I mean, to me, that’s ninety percent of it. Of course it would be good to win. Of course it would. That’s not our decision. It’s not based on sales, it’s not based on any of those kind of other parameters, you know, so it’s kind of up to the Grammy committee.”

Dave Mustaine released a statement last December expressing his gratitude for the nomination. Here’s what Dave had to say.

“Last time we were nominated, I was at the awards talking with Kenny G and I said how we’d been nominated a lot, but hadn’t won it yet. He said, ‘Don’t feel bad. It took me 21 times to win my first one!’

“This has been such an incredible year for MEGADETH. With so many milestones, and so many individual and group awards, to now have this honor of being nominated again is the grand finale to the most perfect campaign.

“We are very appreciative and thankful to all of our peers and contemporaries that are voting for the 2017 Grammys.”

Big news for Body Count fans. Ice-T revealed on Twitter that Body Count’s new album ‘Bloodlust’ will feature appearances from Max Cavalera, Dave Mustaine and Lamb of God’s Randy Blythe. ‘Bloodlust’ will be released via Century Media Records. Ice-T released the following statement.

“With our last album ‘Manslaughter,’ we tested the waters and got a great response from the fans and critics. Now it’s time to go kill it and make a more aggressive album and keep the Body Count style intact.”

Body Count will be releasing an official video for the track “No Lives Matter” from the new album on February 17th. Here’s a teaser.

Heavy Metal pioneers Deep Purple have released the track listing for their highly anticipated album ‘InFinite’, which is scheduled to be released on April 7th via earMUSIC.

Here is the track listing for ‘InFinite’ according to Amazon.

01. Time For Bedlam
02. Hip Boots
03. All I’ve Got Is You
04. One Night In Vegas
05. Get Me Outta Here
06. The Surprising
07. Johnny’s Band
08. On Top Of The World
09. Birds Of Prey
10. Roadhouse Blues

Frontman Ian Gillian gave the following statement in regard to fans who were speculating about the meaning of the album’s title “InFinite”.

“If you take it literally, you may, quite reasonably, think the ‘Finite’ part of the word describes the life of DEEP PURPLE, with a clear beginning and a nebulous end; but what of the ‘in’ bit? The word ‘infinite’ is a three-dimensional, double-edged sword. It describes something that goes on forever in all directions; not unlike its temporal equivalent ‘Eternal’. What’s that all about?

Deep Purple have recently announced that that they will be taking their legendary live show out on the road for “The Long Goodbye Tour” which will kick off on May 13th in Europe. Leg two of the tour will begin in Los Vegas on August 12th.

Here’s the official lyric video for their latest track “Time For Bedlam”.
