Lars Ulrich Becomes Danish Knight
Lars is an interesting guy. In the metal world, we love to hate him, and hate to love him. Either way, his band has sold 110 million records, so I guess it doesn’t really matter what we think. According to the Danish Publication, Ekstra Bladet, Mr. Ulrich is now Sir Ulrich. That’s right, His Truly, is now a Danish knight.
As is typical, but not necessarily common, larger-than-life stars can be knighted. Per the 1808 annex to the rules, non-nobles can be knighted in Denmark for ‘true merit.’ Lars has met the criteria, and as of May 26th, he’s a knight.
Those black, aluminum drumsticks may not be a broadsword, but they seem to have done the job.
Congrats, Lars.
