Well, it appears this could be a live fire exercise: Tool’s Justin Chancellor dished on a MetalSucks podcast that, indeed, the band is around the 90 percent mark for the content of their long-awaited fifth album. Said Justin:
“We’re about 90 percent there, it’s been like a crazy science project — kind of like a petri dish. We’ve just been really picky over what we want to put on this new album and really want to come up with something completely unique. Plus, we have endless amounts of material to sift through, so it’s just been a process.”
I don’t know what 90% means, or if I’m even buying into the hysteria. It has been a long time. Keep grinding, Tool, it had better be a doozy when it drops.
